Welcome to disabledparents, a new community for parents with disabilities to discuss parenting, disability and the intersections therein.

Hopefully this will become a great resource for parents with disabilities, as well as a sounding-board and a place where we can talk freely and gain support.

So we've already had an introduction from gipsy_dreamer but I thought it would be nice to have a dedicated introduction post that we can refer back to (maybe I'll put the link in the user info) so we know people's backgrounds.

Maybe we should have a little questionnaire to fill in. You can fill in as much or as little as you like. Don't feel obliged to do the questionnaire or to answer every question if you're not comfortable!

Age: 24.
Location: Southsea, Hampshire, United Kingdom.
Who do you live with? My five-year-old son Orion, partner Fredrik and two lovely fancy rats.
What is/are your disabilities? ME/CFS, Bipolar II, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (Borderline Personality Disorder to non-Brits)
A little about you: I'm a radical feminist, Pagan, teetotal, a strict vegetarian, tattooed, pierced and stretched. I like reading, tea, orchids, rats, writing lists and jogging.
Anything else of note: Orion is also disabled, he has hemiplegia due to brain damage when he was three months old.
